Job Description:
DiSabatino Maintenance, an equal opportunity employer, is looking for an HR & Training manager. The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years experience in the construction/maintenance field, preferably in HR, training, or workforce management. They will be responsible for training and development of current and future employees, through formal and informal interactions. The HR & Training Manager will play a critical role in ensuring we are hiring and maintaining the best possible talent.

Primary Objectives:
• Develop and execute training plans.
• Network through industry contacts, association memberships, trade groups and employees.
• Oversee and administer HR function for over 200 employees.
• Administrative duties and recordkeeping.

Develop and Execute HR and Training Plans
• Work with managers and/or customers on training planning meetings.
• Create job descriptions with end user/customer.
• Assist with the creation of a plan for each open position.
• Conduct regular follow-up with managers to determine the effectiveness of new hires
• Based on current employees, develop and implement training programs to include trade specific training, safety training, site training, DiSabatino orientation, and other programs as required
• Meet regularly with training committee to ensure appropriate training is being carried out

Administrative Duties and Record Keeping
• Assist in performing reference, drug screen and background checks for potential employees.
• Assist in interviewing and selecting employees onsite.
• Assist in preparing and leading new employee orientation sessions.
• Perform other special projects as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, as assigned. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required.
• Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment, knowledge of Lotus Notes is a plus.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• General knowledge of various employment laws and practices.
• Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills.
• Ability to work with various departments and foster teamwork.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Skills in database management and record keeping.
• Ability to maintain the highly confidential nature of human resources work.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
• Gather and analyze information skillfully.
• Demonstrate resourcefulness and initiative in dealing with daily assumptions.

Education and Experience:
• A bachelor's degree is preferred.
• One to two years of human resources experience preferred
• Background & experience in construction/maintenance industry highly preferred.
